PAINTINGS
My love for texture is coming through in these paintings. The mixture of thick and thin paint, use of palette knives, intuitive colour mixing and additional elements all contribute to a loose and free way of creating that I am very much enjoying. I love watching the paintings come to life through layers and although I usually have a reference when I start, they often develop and change as I paint. I sometimes feel they have a will of their own in how they turn out and that my role is more to go with it than try to control it, as that’s when the magic seems to happen.
